It was a pleasure to read this, and confirms some of my own thoughts on the subject. I've often wondered about the fact that worms are all invasive species yet never make it onto the 'boogeyman' invasive list as this article describes. In my garden I have a dandelion equivalent level of worms and it gives me pause. But unlike dandelions, which cannot penetrate our forests or wilderness areas here, only areas subjected to human disturbance, worms are quite unseen and don't appear to have any meaningful natural control anywhere. Yet, they do seem a benefit to gardens. In the end life on the planet is never ending change, and will always be, whether it meets our approval or not!

Feeling under the weather. I got an allergic reaaction to Something, and my eyes swell up when that happens. Still, I pushed through and cut up sweet peppers, stored in bags that hold 2 stuffed pepper bell sized each. I froze 17 such bags this morning, which means 35 sweet peppers worth.

I put aside a handful of smallish peppers, and tomorrow I will use my dicer and put away sweet peppers for the next chili. I also refridgerated 5 nice color peppers for a sweet pepper meal later this week.
If I include the peppers that I used for the Salsa Party chili and the 6 that DD took home, my harvest is 54 bell sized or equivalents, which is great considering the peppers got planted so late this year.

Canned 7 1/2 more quarts of tomatoes this morning. Total is 60 1/2 quarts. Totals vary as I finish my tomato canning season bc we Use quarts in meals.
It was as I said earlier, they ripen/rot on their own schedule. I had to throw 15 tomatoes out today bc they were rotten beyond redemption.
Reminds me of Blackadder the Third, who wrote a play,

DH took too many tomatoes for eating and one went bad in the dish.
Threw away One tomato out on the grass.
Wrong tally...62 quarts of tomatoes..."in the can," so to speak.
Honestly, Macron was NOT, I repeat, Was NOT out in the grass when I threw those tomatoes yesterday.

For those of you who don't know, the chair is called an "Adironack Chair," first made in the northern Appalachians chain, the oldest mountain range in the world and they are as tame as the Himmalyans are rugged, as well as the rugged Rockies. The chairs were first made in the early 1900's, and often copied. I have 4 such chairs on my front, east facing, porch, 10 x 25', two are regular, and two are gliders. You can fall asleep in one.
Mine were bought from an Amish woodworker. There were never inexpensive, but today's prices are unREAL.
I also found a good alternative in plastic, sold 2021 and 2022 from Rural King.

Since I sew, I can tell you that if I found this print at a fabric store, 1 1/2 yards necessary to make it, new thread, and tax would have cost me more...so I bought it. I took some close up shots of all of the pictures, bc I like patterns like this. Why new thread? I was watching quilting programs and I agree, "I AM A THREAD NAZI!!!"
What to do with any old thread...dunno ...maybe I should braid it and use it to tie up next year's crops.
