You are worse than I am with chocolatedid you know you can store chopped up cabbage and carrots in mayonaise?
well i didn't either, but Mom decided to make some coleslaw and she doesn't like vinegar in hers so she just puts mayo on it. well to me that's just ick, i want some sweet and sour in my coleslaw so i've not been eating it and she hasn't been either. it was in the fridge for about six weeks. i took some out last week and rinsed the gunk off it and then added some apple cider vinegar, brown sugar and mustard and it was fine. today i finished off the rest, i had to rinse it off in the collander to get the gunk off it but it was like baby saurkraut. i then redressed it with some ACV, mustard and some western dressing (red, sweet) and then it still needed a bit more sweet so a few teaspoons of brown sugar.
now if that ain't funny business i dunno what is...

I'm going to try yogurt vinegar and salt with raw cabbage when I get home
Himayian salt is good. But not to much if we have been exposed to metals of any form.sounds ok, i would like it better with cucumber, no sugar means though that it will be too salty and sour. yogurt has some acid to it anyways so perhap go light with the vinegar at first and add a little at a time. i don't usually add salt to much of anything these days.
