Hands Off My Lemon Tree !!!!

I was looking at Four Winds nursery last night and I'm thinking about ordering a 3 year old Meyer lemon. I think I can make space by a window and get a grow light too. Meyers are my favorite and I buy bags of them when they're available.
If you use lemons, definitely try to see if you can grow one.

We have a lemon tree (not Meyer, which I would love) that we were given when DH's brother was moving. It has some kind of parasitic plant that comes up off the roots (I don't remember the name, but I think that was one of my first posts on this site!).

The plant is pot-bound, stays indoors year-round, only gets light when we open the shades (in winter we only open them when there is solar gain to be had), gets overwatered regularly, and still, it is hanging with so many lemons! It is some kind of large variety, almost grapefruit sized.

It is below zero this morning, but sunny, so the shades will be coming up. I'll see if I can get a decent photo.....

You can see the parasitic plant (bushy growth in the pot), DH thinks it was phytophylla, or something like that, but it keeps cranking out lemons! The two small lemons are about normal grocery store size.

I have a lemon too, but it didn't grow the big yet. I have to delete buds. It grows in a plastic pot. I put a pot in a cache-pot . I water as you. But on a cache-pot bottom I put small stones. It helps from excess water. And so I can watch roots not to miss change.
