Help Holes in my cabbage leaves

I have used beer before and it DOES help!! Buy cheap, open up the top of the can and almost bury it so it's about level to the ground.

Help! I am growing cabbage plants in containers not in the ground, and I am getting holes in the leaves that are new and growing. The outside leaves are fine. I have checked and I can not see any worms. Any ideas out there?
