"How's Your Melons Doin'?"

Hi everyone, it has been a while since I have been on. I barely have time to breath these day's, but now that my garden has slowed down and the harvest has mostly been picked, canned and frozen, maybe I will find a bit more time to catch up and start posting again.

All your melon pics look real good! I love a great melon, including watermelon.

I also grew Rich Sweetness Melon. This is a beautiful little melon with very sweet white flesh. The fruit are red, stripped with golden yellow. They weigh about 1/4 pound or less.

Another shot.. The fruit fall off the vine when ripe. They smell wonderful also!

They have a nice, sweet, refreshing melon taste. Yummy!

Which melon? Watermelon, cantaloupe honeydew?

I had sprouted some watermelons but none really survived, nor did any that I seeded directly into the garden...except one that fell into a potted plant that lived on the front porch all season. The other day Mom was watering that plant and came to tell me of a strange growth in the petunias she had never seen before.

Yep...that little watermelon had sprouted and grew one, tiny little melon a tad smaller than a tennis ball. I'll get a pic of it tomorrow...cute as the dickens!

Those little striped melons are sure pretty. Almost look like a decorative gourd!
