Not a sad day for the Sycamore, it was going to fall onto the house or the road at some point. It had to go before it killed anyone. Would of been nice if it could of gotten older than 200yrs, but not if it was threatening to fall.

Never seen any lyre-leaf sage or Chrysogonum virginianum around here.
Hellebore need shade, none here. Had one, killed it, passed it when I saw it in stores...Maybe one day the cherry will be big enough to stick some under it.

Celandine poppy I have, got some the other day. Looked weedy and pathetic, so only got the two. Also got red, yellow and two purple tulips. And some others I forget what they are called. Basically a few of each of the perennial plants in that section in Walmart. Most everything else is an annual and I hate wasting money on things that have such a short life.

Gave up on stripes of grass.

Looks great!... and although it may take a while to fill in, I think it will be less maintenance without the strips of grass.
In my wider beds I have put a few larger stepping stones here and there, or meandering woodchip paths to make weeding easier. Sedums would make for some nice Fall color, if you like them and can grow them there. There are some nice well-behaved clumping sedums. The weeping cherries are beautiful trees!

What about some flagstones? Large irregularly shaped steps to make a path I think look great and are great for helping take up some space.

He is a lawn jockey there is also a stableboy. The old ones made of cast Iron can go in the thousands. Is he made of cement or iron? The stableboy is believe to have been a young slave who was told to watch washingtons horse when he crossed the Delware river. It was very cold that night and he froze to death. They found him the next morning, he was still holding hs lantern.Washington was so impressed with the boys loyality, he has the statue made. There is also belief that that lawn jockey and stableboy when painted black ment safe house for underground rail rode.
