I wasn't going to join because what do I know about gardening but....

Herb gardens are wonderful. You should plant it just outside your kitchen door to make it easy to go out there and snip a bit of this or that for dinner. Overfertilizing and overwatering can lead to bland tasting herbs. One exception to this is basil, it likes a bit richer soil. Parsley will do well in vegetable garden soil, also. The perennial herbs, however, like thyme, oregano, chives, lovage, etc. all do well in the leaner soil. Most all herbs need full sun to do well.

I've got dill all over my garden, it self-sows and comes up as it pleases, if it doesn't please me, I just yank it :watering
