Childhood is so short that every moment should be special rather than a race into adulthood. I had a student (11 YO) confide in me that his older brother made him watch X-rated movies because he didn't want to sit there alone. 
I tried to get him to understand that his childhood was being stolen from him by the actions of his brother. Hopefully I gave him some courage and tools to say no or tell his grandparents. Stealing a childhood should be a crime punishable by time in jail. Once gone, there is no way to get it back that is mentally rational. It makes me so sad.

. I would love to have my "girls" back where they belong. But since I'm poor in the money department God has made me rich in the sense of humor department.
