Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes. He seems to be starting to improve with lots of IV drugs. Beginning to want to eat again. Fever staying below 100, so I think he is on the mend, but it will take a while.

He is being given a harsh IV of Lasix every night. He has to get benedryl, Demerol and anti-nausea medication before he gets the Lasix, to counteract the bad effects. Sounds like chemotherapy for a cancer patient.
