When you are
up to your a$$ in alligators, it's easy to forget you came to drain the swamp.
Being Southerners, we tend to drop the last part as everyone already knows the saying. It is used to explain that one has been extremely busy, overwhelmed, overloaded and not accomplishing much of anything. Y'all just didn't git it, coz y'all ain't got no gators! LOL
