They are used in our “daily fruit mug”, which is a big part of breakfast.

With “some wet” right around the corner; i lifted the Onions and got them in the shed where they will cure a week or so then get bunched and hung.
Im happy with the outcome, thank you Lord!

The second crop brocilli is flowering too and im pretty certain they will finish in time. (they always do)

The cherries are all in the freezer, 3 to 4 gallons this year and after 4 to 5 gallons of raspberries i just walked away from them! And thats hard to do!

All the root stuff looks great but it’ll be a while before any activity takes place with those.

In the green house im still giving away a dozen or so Tomato’s a week; the cukes are winding down which is fine because the indoor ones up in the bathroom are doing fine and there’s lots of 8-10 inch fruit on them right now.
Parsley, Celery and Summer squash will carry on in the greenhouse till it freezes hard.

When i wonder where the Summer went i just look back at all this and wonder how much of this am i wanting to continue as we age? Each year one or two things “goes away”!

The new hive was lifted into a pickup this morning and is setting up the hill at the intended location and i’ve got 3 strong helpers headed this way.
The big thing was getting it out of the shop; making room for the other projects in the pipeline!

Perfect timing! Before noon yesterday i took the pumpkins and cut the potato vines and covered them. I’ll dig them in 2-3 weeks. Then i attempted to grind the one cutting from my new Comfrey patch which is still too wet so the hammer-mill just shredded it. Now it’s on the shop floor for a week or so.

Then in the afternoon it got dark and rained all night, leaving me an honest inch in the rain guage! glad i got in a good lick before all that.

Along the way i checked this years Compost bin and see its still active. Those 65 Comfrey plants came back well after the first and only cutting this year, leaving me confident that there will be several cuttings each season beginning next year! Im real excited about having an
in-exhaustible supply.
The new hive is on it’s pad and wrapped for winter too.

The first time thru, that Comfrey was still to wet so i just shredded it with no screen. After drying i ran it back thru a finer screen and ended up with 20lbs of meal. I’ll quit here as i don't need it any finer.
So now i know how this will go, 1 cutting will yield 2lbs of amendment per bed which is about right. In the back of my mind im knowing there will be multiple cuttings from that patch next year so i feel safe saying “i got this”, regarding Comfrey.
And all during the growing season this patch provides an endless supply of Clover, some monster Dandelion’s and Comfrey for exquisite Bunny cuisine!
