Weekly sowing and propagating time

This week, I got 11 cuttings rooted: 6 roses, three black elderberries, and two grapes. Happy!

So, after pruning some roses, I prepared another four pots with rose cuttings. Before sending these greenwoods to the compost heap, why not give them the chance to become new plants?
6571.jpg

This is the trick I have learned recently; very helpful. After removing partial skins, the exposed parts formed callus pretty easily.
6572.jpg

It's also easier for the rooting powder to attach to the exposed areas.

This is one cutting prepared a few weeks ago. The callus formed on the exposed areas and then rooted.

Today's practice

The sowing and pricking keep going on.

I don't know if it will degrade with time. I bought a small portion in the 2021 Autumn. Maybe give yours a try?

in searching i see two answers, one says two years max, the other says it doesn't expire. i'd say keep using it until it either seems to not be working anymore or until it is gone.

at the rate i'm using my two containers (someone gave me theirs when they didn't need it any more) i'm probably in for a lifetime supply or finding out that it doesn't work anymore in the next 20-30 years.

Eggplant party in the small garden, OMG, they really grow like crazy!
6808.jpg

This experiment gave me good confidence that a bottomless planter can do such a good job.

The tomatoes also grow happily in the same 10Liter bottomless pots.

Peas are growing on the quail run, and the Dahlias will blossom soon, too.

I also start propagating strawberries with their runners.

Lemon babies are growing, too.
