The Ruby-throated Hummingbirds have moved into Alabama already, and I managed to catch this little fella perched in a tree guarding his feeder! He's been trying hard to share with the newly-arrived females, and impress them with his fancy shuttle display. Ever watchful, he was soon preening himself after I took this.

I keep a squirrel stick in the horse tank, it’s a young cedar tree. It’s so squirrels can get a drink, especially during hot dry weather, and not drown. Birds light on the stick to get a drink too. Yesterday I found a dove getting a drink and got this picture as it flew off.
