Bleeding hearts on the North wall (they really love shade). They have been cross-pollinating with a white Bleeding Heart that was on the West side & self-seeding, so the offspring are unpredictable.

Lovely. Mine are so big and lush this spring. But the white one has struggled since day one and is not very big. :(

Our original white Bleeding Heart struggled also, and died after a few years... but not before spreading its pollen into the hardier pink strain, where it seems to be firmly established as a recessive. We allow them to volunteer freely, so the white strain keeps re-emerging.
