Dew, I'd love to see pictures of your roses in bloom. Where I live roses do not fair well, it could also be because I don't know how to care for them lol. Last year my roses bloomed pretty well but they are spindly, one I purchased was suppose to climb 15 feet in one year, yeah right, it got about 3 feet high. I just leave them do their own thing if they decide to. I have much to learn.

I Love the look of a freshly mulched bed. Is that a tomb stone in middle of bed?

@Nyboy That is probably a miniature head stone in my island in memory of my step dad and a little grave marker for a pet of my daughter's.

@CrazyFeathers Here is a picture of one of my roses. I actually just got these for Mother's day this year.
