Yeah, but a very special one. :hugs

Yes he is. I hope we can get this figured out. The prednisone is not good for his bones. He already has problems there, don’t need them to deteriorate any further.

My sister has polymyocitus, I’m sure that is spelled wrong. She nearly died from it some 20 years ago and was put on prednisone. The prednisone saved her life but destroyed both hip joints and both shoulders. She had to have 4 replacement surgeries.

Even though the prednisone is tremendously helpful for Sentry, I’m sure nervous about it.

I agree. Steroids are scary stuff. It irks me when vets want to use them willy nilly for every little problem. No thank you. Save those for when there are no other options.

I’m sorry about your sister. Human doctors are under even more pressure to make right decisions than vets are.

I took a urine sample to the vet this afternoon. It is clean, no infection, no blood, no crystals. Definitely a relief, he’s feeling better and likes spending the day in the house under the AC. He’s getting spoiled.

Don’t know what is causing these episodes. Do I run all kinds of expensive tests to find out or do I just treat the episodes as they come up? It’s been 7 months since the first one. We’ll see.

thick fur and high temperatures, yes, that may be most of the issue right there. glad to hear he's doing better. :)

Fur and high temperatures are not causing whatever problem he has going on. The first episode was in October, it was cool then. I’m thinking he has something very serious, very wrong. He may never have another of whatever this is, or his health could crumble with nothing I can do about it. I’m prepared for the worst and hoping for the best. Maybe it will fall somewhere in between.

Sentry is banned from the ewe crew. He stole a lamb at 3:30 AM several nights ago, I heard him snarling and snapping at the ewe and went to investigate. I put him out of the pen. Lamb later died. Ewe had another one, ram lamb, so she at least had one baby to raise.

BAD SENTRY!

He’s pretty much back to normal, found another turtle this morning.

Sheba didn’t want to leave the shade of the tree for a turtle.

Buford is Sentry’s #1 Turtle Apprentice!

Oh! Hi Mom! We got a turtle!

Can I help? Can I! Can I huh?

I carried the turtle out in a bucket. Buford escorted the criminal turtle off the field, lest it escape and I needed his Turtle Gittin’ skills.
