Oh bummer about the beebalm Heather! It must not travel well, because Southerns didn't make it either. I think Journeys might have survived, and I sent one to Cane, but it was late spring and already hot so it probably didn't live either. :(

The purple spikey bloom in the pot is Betony (Stachys officinalis ).

Southern, I just dead head the beebalm when it's through blooming, then cut it to the ground in the fall.

Lesa, yes a cage works really well, especially around the jacob Cline because it gets so tall. This one I just gathered a little with a piece of twine.
