Howsomeever, I have long appreciated the drummer. Probably has a lot to do with my hearing ;). A good beat and I'm a little more ready for exercise.
 
@Marie2020 , that's what our badgers look like. Maybe you would see the wolverine here as more similar in colour to European badgers. Anyway, if @Shades-of-Oregon had a neighborhood badger, that would take care of her ground squirrel problems.

Well, is it "slinked" or "slunk" away, @flowerbug ? Any way, I wouldn't have been able to find anything other than a stick and those 2 would never have been a match for him no matter what they thought.

I saw a similar critter once and they didn't see it — a Pine Martin. That pleased me. Coyotes were a problem for the chickens but shooting AT one and shooting another seemed to solve problems for the remainder of my time living in the sticks.

A funny thing happened once with Maska. She was sniffing at something and I continued walking. She raced past me to be in front, as dogs will do. And, suddenly stopped! She very carefully stepped aside, one foot at a time. She had inadvertently straddled a big pile of bear poop.

Steve That’s ok you can keep the badgers up there. We have bob cats that travel thru the pastures leaving trails of quail feathers and half eaten moles , mice , squirrels , rabbits and scat left behind to mark their territory.
Not to mention coyotes.
Besides I caught the ground squirrels in a cage and no longer have them … yet… more will come. I have got to get rid of the hazelnut trees. Still working on that project.
