@flowerbug ? Any way, I wouldn't have been able to find anything other than a stick and those 2 would never have been a match for him no matter what they thought.
I saw a similar critter once and they didn't see it — a Pine Martin. That pleased me. Coyotes were a problem for the chickens but shooting AT one and shooting another seemed to solve problems for the remainder of my time living in the sticks.
A funny thing happened once with Maska. She was sniffing at something and I continued walking. She raced past me to be in front, as dogs will do. And, suddenly stopped! She very carefully stepped aside, one foot at a time. She had inadvertently
straddled a big pile of bear poop.
