i did get the onions lifted yesterday and dried off a bit and then the dirt wiped off before putting into some boxes and brought into the garage. i'll need to rotate them at least once a day so they can properly cure without rotting - i don't have any place to hang them.

they look so much better than last year's onions so that make me happy. :)

and i woke up a few hours ago to rain hitting my roof (of this room) so we did get some rains last night.

i'm likely to not do much of anything today outside as it will be pretty wet and besides i'm tired from the previous days of extra hours of working out there and getting some weeding done in that big mess i've left until now.

progress is nice, but it doesn't really look like i've done much so far even if i've taken a dozen buckets of weeds to the weed pile. crab grass plants three feet across can take up a lot of room in a bucket...

one of the crab grass plants i got out of the north garden yesterday was spread out across nearly 6ft. i've never seen one that big. guess that garden soil is pretty good and plenty of moisture is retained when it rains hard enough because i have a ridge built up around the edge.

will be back at it today, there's buckets yet to go.

one good thing though with all the weeds in there is that there is not much purslane. :)
