They are very small what is difference between grape and cherry tomato ?

Shape is likely the only distinction between cherry and grape.

The story that I have read is that the Japanese didn't care for tomatoes. You know, it may have been partly a climate problem, sorta like @flowerbug 's location and tomato growing problems.

Anyway, several decades ago the Japanese agriculturalists came up with some super sweet varieties. Beefsteak size cannot be as sweet, the skin will break. I still should try some Japanese beefsteaks. I'm sure that the US popularity of some of those cherries has led to development of similar varieties in this country and others.

those are Mom's favorites when tomatoes not in season here.

we used to grow Sweet 100s for cherry tomatoes which are exactly as advertised.

I'm growing Mandarin tomatoes this year from Kitazawa Seed Co. I don't remember the description, just that they're orange. I assume they're a Japanese variety? Ooooh I hope they're sweet!

I am growing sun gold and sun sugar cherry tomatoes this season. I am probably wrong here but I think they both might be Asian variety . Anyways they are really sweet and tasty. Also growing sweet 100s as usual. I think there may also be a spin off called sweet millions which I have to try for sure.

I grow lots of Cherries. Why? Cause I like them. Sun Gold & Black Cherry are a couple of my favorites.

This year, I found some new favorites. Snow White Cherry was love at first bite.

Several years ago a breeder gave me Ruby Pearl and after tasting it again this year, Its back on my grow list.

Mini Gold is always hard to beat. After talking with my internet friend, I found out he didn't breed this one. It's actually from Belarus.

Hawaii Yellow Cherry is phenomenal.


However, I have had some spitters this year too.
