That is what happened at the top of Mt. Evans, CO., 14,000 ft and highest paved mountain road in the USA. In 1979 somebody was filling the propane tanks that provided power for the gift shop at the top and it exploded (August, 1979, two weeks after my first visit.)
They never rebuilt it. Probably licensed fitters but maybe not the smartest workers, but propane is pretty explosive and that's why we use it for OUTDOOR grills, so that any excess can blow away.
