Condominiums for birds? What next?
We have a beautiful pair of house wrens this year. He is red and brown and she is brown and grey. I have noticed that all of our 5 birdhouses had straw in them but only one is occupied (by the house wrens). I wonder if they pulled that same stunt? Hmmmm.lesa said:Oh, what a sweet story...I will tell you something I learned about birds. Being a bird house nut, I had them all over the place. Well, birds are smart and they won't build their nests in an area that looks like it will be crowded. One year, my resident house wren went around and built fake nests in all the other the bird houses (besides the one she was residing in), this way the other birds thought they were taken and she got the place to herself!
