This ought to be a good one.....who is from BYC??

Just for fun, I'll show something I started today.

Eggs in Incubator.JPG

No, Ridgerunner! Don't show me! You know how chicken math works and I don't have room for any more birds!

Gee, that does look like fun. Those babies will be so cute. Little fuzzy-butts are so fun to watch. They don't eat much or take up much room. Hum-m-m-m, maybe I'll check chick prices on line. There are a couple of breeds I've been wanting to try.

I don't mind an old thread but if someone wants to start a new one I'm for it. Here it is Feb. 2014 and we've had very little winter so all my roses are leafing out and thankfully I pruned early this year, daffodils are blooming, yellow jasmine and my plum tree has blossoms on it. The peach and apricot are starting also. Still a long ways from spring but I'm planting cabbage and lettuce. Oh! forgot to mention there are three stalks of asparagus about 18" high.

I want to get more involved here because I have decided I know a lot less than I used to. (Maybe I just need glasses.. and a toady. A toady would be so handy.)

I didn't realize what the original question of the thread was, whoops! I also found TEG from BYC. My husband lives on that forum, but I'm not all that interested. If I have a problem with the chickens I usually ask him to make a post for me and let him tell me the answer. He showed me TEG when he realized that I wasn't giving up on gardening no matter how many times I failed. I am now glued to TEG waiting for someone to make a new thread! :D
:thumbsup

It’s just so I can tell which egg is which no matter how it is laying. Sometimes that helps to know when the hatch is over.

Those are just pure barnyard mixes. None of the parents are pure anything, just plain mutts. It will be interesting to see what I get. I’ll probably post a picture in about 3 weeks.

Yeah, I used a sharpie. It never has been a problem for me. I know some people get really worried about that, but I'll just say I use one and never worry about it.

If you think you are glued now.......just wait until people start putting in their spring gardens!! Pictures....we call it garden porn..... And I believe 100% that you will be successful in your garden efforts. We ALL have failures, no matter how long we have been gardening. Plants die, sometimes I think just because those darn cucumbers didn't like me! So don't give up, we not only celebrate our victories here, we commiserate our failures as well.
