November 2007. That is pretty easy. I was just getting over jet lag from working my last tour in Angola and settling into retirement in my new (to me) house. I was ordering my fruit trees to start my orchard, ordering the oaks, maples, and such to start the wood lot, and planning where I was going to put the garden, the orchard, wood lot, and all that.

I was sitting on a hill eating a scone and drinking a thermose of much-to-hot-chocolate while waiting for a large creature with horns to step out in front of me so I could eat it.

This is one of the oldest topics I can find in our garden forum here. I got maybe almost halfway therough so far reading the posts.

I still consider myself new here. The folks who posted so long ago, a lot do come from Back Yard Chickens forum, and have not posted here in a long time. I bet some are still active in the chicken forum. Would it be cool if someone in both forums invite them to revisit us here?
