picked a half dozen Beaver Dam peppers and will enjoy eating a few of those with some BBQ chicken today (from the freezer). Mom asked me if i was going to give some of them away and i said no since i can eat a few a day myself.

we have a crop of green and red peppers coming along too but i'm not sure when Mom will get cooking with those (stuffed peppers :) ).

I harvested a few large handfuls of green beans from the vines grown in a container on my porch. Ate some right off the plants, tossed a few into a salad, and added the rest to a stir fry. That was all that the vines had to give and they were looking pretty ratty at this point, so I pulled them down and rearranged the flower pots to fill in the space where they had been.

I harvested the beets and beet greens a couple weeks ago (those left to me by marauding deer), so now all that remains will be the tomatoes.

I'm on the verge of ripping out most of the garden. I'm not really getting anything from it. I will leave the pumpkin and squash plants but everything else can go.
