two tiny tomatoes from a plant that I bought three months ago. It's finally coming around.

I hope that the chard doesn't slow down now that we have some summer heat in the forecast. It hasn't made a whole lot of growth.

i don't grow it but i think it works in any way you would use regular cabbage. it being rather hot these days i like cold salads, so to me shredded with a sweet and sour sauce and some bacon crumbles and/or a cole slaw would be my first two choices. onions required in both of these. i don't consider them right without onions...

I can't grow it ... without a special environment: in the hoop house for a good long time. The conditions are too harsh for it in the open garden and it is decidedly third-rate when grown without protection.

Chinese cabbage is a Brassica rapa like bok choy and suitable for stir-fries. It's also a tender thing so that @flowerbug salad idea seems very appropriate. Onions make them "right?" Well, okay

I stir fried 5 Highlander peppers in olive oil with some garlic and ate it all myself.

Peas are about done. Had too many too eat during the peak. so some went into the freezer. Green beans are about ready. Several small tomatoes from the ox heart have ripened.

I'm getting tiny, handfuls of tomatoes.
Confession: The Bloody Butcher set fruit before they were transplanted out, in May. I left those green tomatoes on the vines. Weellll, I know better and will usually even take off flowers at transplant. These just so impressed me with their earliness. Besides, they are a very good tasting, early variety!
Stunted the vines! Didn't even get the tomato to ripening and then to the kitchen on one plant. It split bad and began to decay. So, the 2 Bloody Butcher have had to recover. Meanwhile, it's the Sungolds, one or two Sweet 100's, and Yellow Jelly Beans. Just a few, each day ...
