NightlySaladWithHomegrownPeaShoots.JPG

The first of pea shoots harvested from my tiny grow kit. My typical small salad that I snack on before falling asleep, in front of the TV. This one is a mix of cherry tomatoes, cucumber, green peppers, avocado, carrots and a spoonful of cottage cheese, with oil/vinegar dressing sweetened with maple syrup. Together with an orange, a dish of apple slices, and a cup of herbal tea - my bedtime snack, but I grew only the pea shoots.

Looks tasty and such a healthy snack!

Sprouts with cream cheese between slices of whole wheat bread 🥪 are so tasty. I especially like radish.

DW takes no interest. She will buy mung bean sprouts occasionally so we can have them in stir-fry recipes — that's the sum total of her appreciation.

It occurs to me that Summertime may be a good time for me to make the simple and individual efforts with sprouts. We have the other, seasonal activities and the sandwiches and salads are convenient at that time of the year.

I totally forgot about sprouts. I need to get some started! I wonder if they would thrive under a happy light in the winter months?

i'm surprised that more people don't do dill sprouts. there's so many zillion seeds they can produce when you grow them and the seeds are usually pretty easy to harvest.
