The peppers are slow, mine have been in for abour two weeks and they are still coming up. Have faith!!

I am going out to throw some seeds in my new annual bed with my DD and DS. I may also plant some beans. It is a little early, but it is sooo warm, and supposed to be all week. So I am betting we have maybe had our last frost.

I am still waiting on my potatoes to pop up. They take awhile, too, right? I am worried about them.

warmfuzzies yes taters can take awhile. It seems last year I planted mine in March and they took about 3 or 4 weeks. As long as the soil isn't too cold and wet they won't rot so you should be fine, it is so hard to be patient huh? :happy_flower

I've been out in the garden all day, in the warm :happy_flower :happy_flower :coolsun weeding like mad!! I'm stung all over & tired. I had to come in because I'm expecting a delivery. I'm also hungry & thirsty row Perfect excuse to check up on TEG I thought -- see what you are all up to

Our lovely weather continued through today but it might change tomorrow -- rain is forcast. I don't mind that as we need a good wet! It has been a dry Spring & that is bad news because they will issue water restrictions. . I try to conserve as much moisture as I can by mulching with anything I can get my hands on. My soil is very free-draining. It's got better over the 8 years I've been here & all the tons of compost I've shovelled on to it. :tools :tools :tools :tools :tools

All my seedling are doing well except those lay-a-bed, lazy peppers NOT A SIGN of them but I've already been hardening off the squash, courgettes, cucumbers & some climbing melons -- I've never heard of these before so couldn't resist giving them a go I like trying out a few new things every year ANYONE ELSE have any experience of them -- HANDY HINTS ALWAYS WELCOME

Oh! I wish my delivery would come as I want to finish this weeding. I have to uncover my remaining 3 raised beds.....!!! YES, the nettles were that bad I have been unwell for the last 2 years & my poor garden got sadly neglected! But now I'm back to being FULL of BOUNCE I want to move them over to a better, sunnier, more protected situation that allows me to take advantage of whatever sun we get in the winter! I have actually found the lost beds & now I have to dig them out, move them & refill with the earth plus lots & lots of well composted poo, coutesy of my chicken crew & my lovely neighbor who breeds ponies & delivers me loads of a mixture of horse poo & grass. This stuff is 3 years old. It's perfect to mix with the old soil. I will also put some dried seaweed in as well.

Well my delivery arrived & within the time I was given so off I go again :rainbow-sun You all have a great time in the dirt Hope the sun is out for you too :coolsun

Hey, there's MOVEMENT in the modules full of PEPPERS They are on their way out Just tiny DOTS at the moment BUT they are COMING............!!!!! I'm so pleased. I'm like a kid over things like this -- especially when it's a 1st for me I'M a HAPPY OLD LADY today :rainbow-sun :rainbow-sun :rainbow-sun

More GOOD NEWS I've got all the nettles & brambles out & re-discovered my missing raised beds that I want to relocate to the other side of the garden. They are all in good condition too. The chickens loved it -- lots of new bugs (as well as bits of my biscuits of course). We were all very busy

The weather has been wonderful for about 10 days but there is rain on the way for the next week. THEY (????) say it will be heavy showers but we will still have sunshine. :coolsun Hope so as" I've got the bit between my teeth" now !!!!!

I'm feeling so much healthier now I'm outside so much, I'm a lot stronger & I'm sleeping better.

It's morning here so I'm looking forward to get out there to start filling the new (old) raised beds. I've got so many things growing indoors it's becoming a hazard. I've got to get them outside. Once planted I will keep them under cover with floating fleece because I don't trust the night-time temperatures. My guide is my mulberry tree! There's an old country saying here that the mulberry is a magic/wise tree as it only comes into leaf when all frosts are past. !!! My tree is stubbonly refusing to leaf-up -- I can see the nubs of the leaves so I know that it's alive -- It's JUST WAITING...!! It's never been wrong since I planted it about 7 years ago.....Hmmmm!!

I'm going to have my coffee & croissant now. So my friends get a good nights' rest because you have a lot of gardening to do this weekend. :coolsun :tools :tools :tools :tools :tools :tools :coolsun

Hooray for the peppers . They are just SO slow. Some of mine are still just the first two leaves and they have been up for 2 weeks .

I'm very happy today I found 100-100yr old bricks for the floor of my greenhouse, it is really more of a hoop house I guess but any way I only need enough for the walkway roughly 36 sq ft but the guy said they all had to go for 40.00 They came from an old building up in Cripple Creek, was a gold mining town, so I'll have a bit of history and I'm sure I'll find something to do with them all. And I got the email that my 2 hops vines are on the way
I'm off to plant some pansies now, hope all have a wonderful weekend

I just planted a whole new, didn't know I was going to have, last minute last night... flower bed! OMG! In 90 degree weather none-the-less. Long list and I'm exhausted since we're still working on siding, so I will post pictures later.

Bell peppers, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, Rosemary, flat leaf parsley and did a lot of raking. Tomorrow I hope to get some more done. But we also have got to get a chicken coop built. We have outgrown the one we built last year.

Today I finally got to start. After 3 hours of getting a new belt for tiller (had to go 2X as first belt was 1" too small) and getting it on, tilled garden. Then planted......

sweet corn, green beans, peas, cabbage, peppers, lettuce, spinache, zucchini, cucumbers, & eggplants.

Not bad for not getting to start till after 1:30.
