What Are You Planting Today, This Week, This Month?

Thanks Thistle,

I dont have a grow light but do have a heating mat I just use my sunny window so I have to be careful they dont get spindly..Grow light is on my list of must get...

Wow... I got in 2 kinds of cukes started in the house today. I got 3 types of melons, one yellow squash, 3 more tomato types, basil and dill going too.

I have trays trays EVERYWHERE! LOL

I'm planting outside now!! I planted a bunch of types of greens, peas, carrots, beets, radishes, kale, cauliflower & Brussels sprouts. It's been unusually warm around here, so I keep feeling like I'm running late getting stuff out.

Are you keeping them on the heat mat after they sprout?
They don't need the bottom warmth once they're up.

I planted my lettuce gutters yesterday. I put in arugula, endive, spinach, and a couple different lettuce mixes. I also put in a jalapeno I got from the nursery, direct seeded some corn, and transplanted some beans I started a month or so ago.

I planted two hydrangeas and a maple tree or should I say my husband planted them and I supervised.:D

I didn't plant anything- but, I did dust off my gardening crocs and start cleaning out beds!!! What a wonderful moment! It is cold and windy today- but yesterday was perfect. Saw a few snowdrops, and welcomed home three geese that flew over head. Spring has sprung!

Today I started my project of moving my garden. I dug up 4 hills of asparagus and planted ove 40 spots w/single to multiple crowns. Then on to strawberries, dug and planted over 70 plants. My fat old body is sore tonight. Lucky for me tiller took off first pull. I'll download and post pixs of one of the crowns I dug up. About 1.5' in diameter. I still have 4-7 mounds to dig up yet. Those I'll leave until they are done bareing as I want fresh asparagus to eat.

New asparagus patch is 6' X 24'.

For lights for seedlings DO NOT buy anything labeled GROW LIGHT. They do not have enough lumens and they cost way too much. 150 watt equivalent CFLs will work much better.

I just planted peas in my straw bale beds, another bed of snow bird peas behind the quail pen, sunflowers randomly throughout the garden and I am about to start digging through the lettuce seeds :D

I have corn coming up in the cold frame and some bok choy (had to replant after the freak -25 cold snap).

Planted cilantro and some beans in jiffy pots.

The tomatoes are all sprouted. now I need to concentrate on peppers and squash.

Might have started a bit late but set jalapeno and Habanero seeds 2 days ago. We'll see how they go, I didn't have much luck last year with my sweet pepper seeds so we'll see about the hot. Also just bought another blueberry plant and 2 raspberry plants but have to wait until May to put them in the ground.
