What did YOU do in your garden today :P

Not in the garden but in the kitchen. I washed a lot of dishes. In between spells of dish washing, I canned 18 pints of chicken broth and put another 14 cups of cauliflower in the freezer. That totals out my cauliflower. Out of eight heads I froze a total of 56 cups plus we had a few servings of fresh cauliflower including tonight for supper.

That is amazing, isn't it? I have never grown cauliflower where I ever got anything, so I am not sure, but that sounds like a lot! Nice!

I planted the last of the peppers, 2 Hungarian wax and 1 Golden California Wonder, 4 cantaloupe and a few basil. Gave the pole beans some manure tea. I filled the dehydrator with cilantro.

Cut some kale, blanched and froze some of it and filled the dehydrator and made kale chips.

Pulled 2 black plastic garbage bags of weeds and grass. Where did all that come from?? Gheesh!

It is 48 degrees, raining on and off. I have 5 trays of oregano and 4 trays of sage in the dehydrator. I will cut more sage tomorrow. It is falling on the oregano.

Weeded, ate fresh strawberries, fresh peas. Found an area where I forgot I planted cabbage seeds for late cabbage. Now I have enough plants for 2 towns.

Good news as I found some parsnips are coming up as well as okra I had given up on.

weeded in and around the garlic. checked to see which ones will need the scapes cut off and which i will leave on to get some bulbis for next year's growing. went to the greenhouse and got more habanero peppers and some other plants to get in the ground. came back to storm clouds moving in for a bit so took a nap. woke up and decided to go outside and do a little more weeding around the garden in front of the coop. and now i have to quickly go out and close up the chickens and throw some more weeds to them before their light goes out for the night.

Picked peas and a handful of strawberries which the grandsons promptly ate, did some more weeding. Planted a new sage plant, coral colored peony and a dark purple lavender.
