What interesting creatures live in your garden?

Have you got a video camera? I'd love to see that! Brilliant idea with the cooking spray, I'll make a note of that for future bird feeders.

I wish I had a video camera, and my phone is really dumb. But yeah, it was hilarious... you gotta try it, if only for laughs. I will have a hard time razzing Mom about her squirrel watching after laughing so much .. all by my self... :D

I think it may have worked for the raccoons also, as the feeder was untouched this morning and I know they have been coming at night... they totally destroyed a new feeder a few nights ago...:somad

Pity! I'd have loved to see that.

Raccoons are a pain, from what I heard. I'm glad we don't get them here, but then we have mongoose... Not my favourite animal after they wiped out a whole lot of my chickens.

I am probably easily entertained ...... but yesterday I foiled the squirrels by hanging a feeder on a tall shepherds hook, sprayed the pole with cooking spray ... ever seen a rodent slide down a firepole ...

That's a good one!

I used dish soap. It worked about once.
We thought we were clever by taking the feeders off the trees and hanging two of them on a shepherds hook. Dh even went to the trouble to cement it in. A few days later a squirrel was happily climbing up and eating again. I'll fix him! I marched out with my liquid dish soap and squirted down the pole. Come back in, stand at the kitchen window, squirrel takes a jump, grabs the pole and slowly slides down. Yeah, we got a good laugh out of that one :D. The very next day he figured out that he could jump from the tree to the feeder. So now they don't even bother to climb the pole. :\

My daughter and son in law did that on their bird feeder pole--too funny!!

I bet that one will morph into something pretty!
I hope I'll get to see it. Goodness, it was cold here 2 nights ago, I hope the poor thing survived.

More funny squirrel moments. I got this pic off BYC:

Turkey's love to eat seedlings as well. Worse pests than Canadian geese.
