That's a good idea, but I wonder if the dogs kicking the jars around will keep me up at night
Really a good idea though. I might look into some of the under bed storage boxes and see if jars stand up in them.

I feel ya' @canesisters . I have this big house now, moving down to 1500 square feet, no garage either. On the bright side, there is a fair sized hall closet that I will convert to a pantry and it will be bigger than the one I have now. Back on the dark side, I now have a deep cabinet for the big pressure canner, big soup pot, big this, big that........ I will miss that..... 
Those plastic totes with lids for under the bed storage sound like a good idea.

You need just the right garden space for something like that. Even without its keys and strings and hammers, that piano is LOUD.
