Who is Having BQ Sat ?

Have a group of friends coming over for BQ and fireworks. Want to do traditional hotdogs and hamburgers, anyone have unusual topping for these ? A client babies her pansies till now , then uses the red, white and blue (purple) flowers in salad. Anyone have creative but simple side dishes?

We're having homegrown BBQ chicken and hot wings, watermelon, corn, all that good stuff. I think my mom is making 7-layer dip which is always a hit.

We have a tourist attraction near here called Hillbilly Hotdogs. They were featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" a few years ago. My favorite dog to get when I'm there has ham (get something salty like country ham or smokehouse deli ham), crushed pineapple, BBQ sauce and shredded cheddar. Super good! That link has their menu, which might give you a few more ideas. A kid at church talked me into trying a chili dog with nacho cheese sauce the other day. It was good too.

it's going to be a 50/50 chance of rain all day on the 4th,so we are just planning on burgers and for switch on potato salad we are going to make blue potato salad..
with the ones from the garden will have to steal a couple more...

otherwise nothing fancy over the weekend....

Don't know. Going to DD's and she doesn't know what they are serving yet.

My sister and her best friend are coming for First Monday in Canton. It is a flea market that covers over 100 acres. We are all going tomorrow (Friday) and over to DD's Saturday. The private subdivision DD lives in is putting on fireworks show over one of the three lakes, so we'll all watch that.

Still up in the air. Maybe a picnic here early in the day if DH feels better, and fireworks at DS's house in the evening. Maverick and Gypsy's Friday sleepover might be moved to another night. Friday night, Mom and Dad were (maybe) taking them to a party and Saturday is the big day. No fireworks out here in the boonies. Any night with the grands is a good one and with school out, any night will work.

Well since our DD has 2 parades that day, I'm not sure what we will be getting into. MontyJ said he wants to put something on the grill though. It doesnt have to be anything special for us.
