we have some rescues from ones we planted a few years ago that eventually died off due to borers and deer eating them at a relative's place. we replaced the plants and took the roots and bits that were left and put them out back along a fence (inside the fence :) ) and they've managed to grow and even give off some blooms.

years ago we planted 30 rose bushes in a lot of the then perennial gardens inside the fence and with our heavy clay soil and flash flooding they were all gone within a few years from black rot. so we've not bought any more to replace them.

Mom loves roses and i used to grow a garden of various ones for her at the place where i grew up. when i had extra i'd give them to the Mom's around the neighborhood.
That is my experience, since every place I want roses seems to be poorly drained and even amending soil means they are in a poor draining clay hole. So these will have to have a little elevation.

Eldest DD not only Loves her air fryer, etc., but now can't live without it!
SHE hasn't dehydrated anything yet--I Have suggested doing it with leftover mushrooms--but I still do. Currently the dehydrator is running with the remainder of my 2020 sweet peppers, and I will dehydrate banana peppers and jalepano next.

I have an Excalibur dehydrator, this model.

Next time around I am going with metal screens. The nesco lets me buy more..and more..and more, they just get brittle and break over time and heat.

Here ya' go

My dehydrator is probably 30 years old. I have put the most use into it. DH got it in the early 90's to make beef jerky. It gets probably 15-20 hours every season. Since it is old, I turn it off when I am not at home.
When it dies, I will buy a new and better one, but probably not a large one.

Started banana and jalepanoes yesterday. Got spicy inside, so I separated the banana peppers and they are being dried in the machine, the others have been moved to the cold oven and the small freezer on the porch. Temperatures are mid 70's today, so they should dry out somewhat outside. When I finish the banana peppers, mostly yellow, I will run the dehydrator on the porch, so that my eyes don't water!
Good thing, though, these jalepanoes under my fingernails are clearing out my nose better than Vicks!
