@aftermidnight this might be a good time to mention that @ninnymary is an honorary redneck and in fact, I adopted her as my Texan daughter. 
She is still trying to get the southern/Texan drawl down (thanks @bobm -- at least somebody 
appreciates my accent, but not @seedcorn, 
who we will not mention) but she is a wonderful ally to this misunderstood southerner. 
Yes I do live in a nice climate and can grow all year long. It's not my fault that SOME PEOPLE choose to live in the artic and gripe about it and blame southerners for their woes. If I were not such a nice person I would probably tell certain people
(@seedcorn are you listening?) to take their snow shovel and stick it............ in the snow, of course. 
Anyway, it looks like the line has been drawn in the compost pile........ or this time of the year, it might be the snow pile....
you can hang with the fun people or you can hang with the grouch. 
We do have a lot of fun here so just join right in.

Hey! I was born several degrees south of the 40th parallel, in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Mom had Cousin MaryGold who lived in Victoria. My grandfather was Canadian so maybe we could get you thru immigration ...
