After a month-early spring, with daffodils, forsythia and fruit-bearing trees all in bloom, last night it was 22 degrees. My neighbors have had the heat generators on in their orchards all night long. I hope they saved the flowers.
very dark clouds formed and a T O R N A D O streanght of EFO on the Fujita scale with winds of 60- 85 mph tore off a barn's roof built in the 1940s and scattered it over 700 yards.
The owners ( in their 70s) said that the Insurance Co. refused to insure it several years ago, so they will not be able to rebuild it.
The frame and siding are still standing ! The owners' raised black Angus cattle which made a quick high tailed exit and into the nearby woods. The owners' son is now gathering the cattle as well as the metal roofing material . :bee
