a little bit of snow coming down today. not much accumulation expected. some rains yesterday and also today in the forecast so we'll continue this cooler and wetter trend and that's ok. we needed the moisture.

it was 80-84F for several days and then the weather went back to more seasonal. we don't plant frost sensitive plants until after mid-May.

i'm not sure what the latest frost date i've seen here.

the trees are budding out and pollinating, my allergies are going nuts. but at least things are starting to green up at last.

I can hardly imagine 84° (29°C). In 2023, we have had as warm as 64° (18°C), I think.

A 30-80% chance of rain/snow over the next 36 hours with snow dropping to 2400 feet elevation. That leaves us out but we have had such pathetic "precipitation events" recently that, even if I was out at my old home at 2500 feet, I doubt if it would fully cover the ground.

No frost over the last 48 hours – we are lucky that greenhouse heating requirements have been low.

seeing no buds on trees or even any greening of branch tips

SE Oregon just having long drawn out low pressure triggering tons of pain. Possibly snow tomorrow. Fen is having to learn his tasks quickly. He has become quite the extortionist, stealing clothes out of the bedroom to chew up, knowing he will be paid handsomely in treats for handing them to me. He’s basically holding them hostage 😵‍💫

It was 42F last night, going to 78F this afternoon. Days like this, I sometimes have to run the AC in the evening. The afternoon sun hits the back of the house, it’s a double wide mobile home, it gets hot.

Cloudy ... & a little breezy, a cool 37°F outdoors (3°C). One eighth of an inch of rain fell over the last 24 hours at the nearest airport ... The nextdoor neighbor is having a tree cut down. It is right on the property line, pushing over her fence. There is a 15mph wind - :hide. I'm staying out of the greenhouse!

The greenhouse temperature is 62 (17C), at 9:30 with the heat on. It just won't warm up without some sunshine, darn it.

I checked the soil temperature at nearest AgWeatherNet and it's 42.8F (6C)!

Auroras overhead as I type this, brightening rapidly. Anyone awake & away from city lights should take a look. Easily visible overhead even in my suburban back yard, curtains getting brighter, and waves rippling across the sky. The clouds pulled away just in time. :woot

we were clouded over and then i fell asleep...
