Ugh, this is the craziest week. Tomorrow we sign all the buying and selling documents, and today around 5 pm i discovered our lender was trying to lend us more money than we needed to borrow! "oh, i thought you wanted some extra cash?!" no lady, we want to borrow as little as possible!!! Anyway, hopefully we got that all straightened out, and Friday is the big day. As in, the only day we have to move. We have to be totally out of the house by Saturday, which is also the day of our good friend's wedding. We moved a ton of stuff about 2 weeks ago to a storage unit, so we'll have extra time to get that to the new house. But its still going to be a huge day Friday. Today we took down the greenhouse structure, our backyard looks so strange!

Looking forward to the new house, there are some bare bones in for landscaping, a few trees here and there. Lots of grass. The house is 4 years old, but has no flowers or veggie garden. Not sure what we'll get done this year, first we have to put up a fence for our Lucy dog, then i want to get some shrubs and maybe a tree planted by the entrance to the deck.

We may get a few homegrown veggies this year, we're moving a few tomatoes, zucchini and basil in pots - we'll see how they survive the move with the heat we're having! Hopefully we'll survive too!!

Oh, I hear you, we moved house just over 2 weeks ago and are planing on moving again in 2-3 months. It's a PAIN! Good catch on the money lender! They probably thought you'd be distracted by the moving and everything and not notice? What a cheek :smack

Good luck with the move and the new beginning! I hope you're going to post some pics to show us what you're up to :)

It seems like no matter how much you look forward to a move, it is so stressful. :hugs Take a deep breath and gather your excitement for your plans for the new place. Congrats! I hope all goes well on Friday!

I can't even imagine us moving :hide ... although it would be a great thing for weeding out all that 'stuff' that wandered in.

Moving is a tremendous chore. I try to avoid it whenever possible. It's an opportunity to get rid of a lot of accumulation if you take advantage, you wouldn't believe how many trips to Goodwill or the local dump I made when we moved.

You will need to prioritize your work, like that fence for the dog. You might consider planting fruit trees or perennials like asparagus this year to try to get a head start on things that take a while, but you've probably already figured that out. The important thing is to get through the move now. We may not hear much from you for a while you'll be so busy, but come back and chat, especially if you need moral support.

Amen! As someone who just recently moved and landscaped (at least partially) a new house, it is a LOT of work. BUT, it is pretty fun to get to start over. :)

After waiting for all the looking, bargaining and closing, it seems a quick move is the norm. It is stressful! But it is one of the most fun :celebrateadventures you can have. I remember moving out the back door while the new folks were moving in the front one and DH was "finishing" some construction tasks that we never got around to. Then we sat in the driveway to our new house until midnight when the people there finished their farewell party and left...mess and all.

Do what you must on moving day, but take some time the next day for yourself and a deep breath, :loveyou will deserve it.

:thumbsupCongrats on the new house! A phych class I took said buying a new house is right up there with the death of a family member in stress level. I'd done it so often that I didn't agree, but realize that the first purchase is both exciting and scary. Enjoy the exciting! Enjoy the blank canvas and its opportunities! :hugsWe're here for you.:hugs

I have faith in you that everything will get done. I'm sure you are already packing. Just try to be organized on the day of the move and try to get help. It's always nice when you have someone at both ends to unpack and set up. Try to know ahead of time where the large pieces of furniture will be placed and mark them if possible.

Woohoo Heather! It seems like this process took forever and now it's the sprint portion. Eat your Wheaties! Pix Pix Pix too. We want to be there for the before and all the afters.
Hopefully you're taking some time off from work for a few days?
So happy for you!

We have 2 days off work, but part of that time off is also for our friend's wedding that we're realy looking forward to. Its about a half mile from our new place so that is cool!!!

We are pretty organized...every box that's taped shut has a label...some mention of the contents and what room it belongs in. I'm feeling much better this afternoon, since all the paperwork signing went very smoothly this morning.

I am bringing some perennials with us, so it will be a priority to figure out where to put those. I've got small pieces of Persiacaria, rhubarb, allium, iris and yucca. The last 3 were from DH's family's garden, so glad we're able to bring those with us. Oh and i dug all my garlic yesterday, the timing was perfect for that! We're leaving the new owners with an array of veggies, hopefully they'll put them to use! There's lettuce, cabbage, brussel sprouts, quinoa, a tomatillo, a few green beans, zucchini and some tomatoes.

Now to try and round up something for dinner with a basically empty fridge! :)

Instant move. Blech. :barnie But I know you have the ability to handle it and do what needs to be done. Sounds like basically throw everything in and sort it all out later. Taking stuff to a storage unit was brilliant. Keep us posted, take before and after pictures. You will get everything put in place and it will be time to take a Calgon bubble bath......

I'll be doing the same thing soon, moving 160 miles, taking horses and chickens.
