My wife and I were driving home right after we had eaten, when we drove by Carl's Jr. . There was a banner outside advertising Baby Back Ribs. Anyone have a taste review of this dish ? How does it compare to Mickey D's original, which was realy good, while their new and improved is something to be desired. :caf

I have had my fill of "shoe leather ribs." If you REALLY want good ribs, buy good meat and make them at home. They are very easy--cook or steam in the oven for one hour, then top with your favorite BBQ sauce. We like to have mac-n-cheese and vinegar based slaw (again, homemade and very easy.)

Me too, I bring mine to a boil, then simmer for an hour covered in water with either a few cloves of garlic or half an onion, this makes the meat tender and fall off the bone and gets rid of some of the fat. Then mine go into the oven smothered in my own barbecue sauce, covered with foil for 20 minutes, uncovered for 20 minutes at 375º. Haven't tried tried finishing them on the grill but should be just as good or maybe even better.
Annette.

Question? Baby back ribs from a fast food place? You aren't serious, correct? It is ground pork with a sauce.

Sorry Bob, havent tried anyone's but McDee. Not fond.

Not fond of McRib either. The local convenience store chain (Quick Trip) has one that is marginally better, but still not great. Both are only a couple blocks away & I haven't eaten either for over a year.

I've been seeing the commercials for some chain (think it was Carl's Junior) advertising "ribs on a burger", not quite sure just what that means. Granddaughter works there, I suppose I'll have to go in & try one (unless she tells me not to).

Just looked at their website... yup, its a burger with a rib patty on top. Probably enough fat to fill my quota for the week, but it sure looks good. I'll let you know. :drool
