I wondered how cherries are ever harvested, when birds like them so well. I guess mulberries have a use after all.
I have a theory. We used to go blueberry picking at a huge nearby farm until we grew our own. I asked how they kept the birds away. "We have so many bushes that there is enough for the birds and us." As a side note, until we netted our bushes we never even saw a blue berry. When picking strawberries a few years ago at a farm I asked the same question, knowing when I grew them , not a untouched berry could be found with out very secure netting."We have so many berries that there is enough for the birds and us." I think this is what farmers are trained to tell people. I think they eliminate all of the birds that they can.

Hopefully they are not avoiding saying "We have a super strong birdicide we spray the trees and plants with."

He may actually be doing you a favor. Pepper plants do better, produce more when they are trimmed by 1/3 to 1/2 when first transplanted outside.

I didn't know this, but I don't have the heart to try it!
I saw it on a garden show a few years ago. I always get poor pepper production, just one or two peppers per plant, small and weak. So I thought what do I have to lose a few years back and gave it a try, it was amazing the difference it made. Much stronger, healthier plants, much more production.

I have not even looked yet this morning. It rained last night. I was thinking of filling a black sack with leaves or something about the size of my cat, and put some white on it for his face and just sit out there. The birds hate him. When he is outside the birds fuss and fuss at him. I would have a fit about the cherry harvest. View attachment 13658
I bought one of those fake owls to chase birds from may porch-does not work.
