I have a theory. We used to go blueberry picking at a huge nearby farm until we grew our own. I asked how they kept the birds away. "We have so many bushes that there is enough for the birds and us." As a side note, until we netted our bushes we never even saw a blue berry. When picking strawberries a few years ago at a farm I asked the same question, knowing when I grew them , not a untouched berry could be found with out very secure netting."We have so many berries that there is enough for the birds and us." I think this is what farmers are trained to tell people. I think they eliminate all of the birds that they can.I wondered how cherries are ever harvested, when birds like them so well. I guess mulberries have a use after all.
