My garden soil is improving. I've thrown everything at it but the kitchen sink LOL. It still has a ways to go. And shame on me, I neglected it to work on and finish fence. We are so proud to have the fence finished. Now we are slaughtering hogs, #3 tomorrow. I'll miss having the pigs to throw the garden weeds to......

This morning I vacuum packed the dehydrated eggplant from the other day.

Then laddled out the roasted spaghetti sauce into containers (meal-sized proportions) & put them in the freezer. When frozen solid, we'll pop them out of the containers & vacuum packed them. We do it this way as they are easy to stack like bricks in the freezer.

We canned the 'Heatmaster' tomatoes (got 9 more quarts). While the jars were in the waterbath, I harvested more green beans, another tub of tomatoes & 4 more cucumbers.

@w_r_ranch have you put eggplant in your sauce. I like to roast eggplant for spaghetti sauce. Of course roasted anything is good! I've always wanted to try tomato sauce with roasted tomatoes. Suzanne Somers had a recipe for it I always wanted to try. I think it was called tomato glut sauce or something like that.

Thanks for the video of the dog poppers. I have the hardest time getting these features to work. I need my 12 year old son to show me!

Harvested half the soy beans, pulling the plants up as I did. One heck of a crop, they were loaded!!! We finally got them all processed today... I'm going to have to buy ears of corn in the next couple of days, I want to try making succotash with them.

Made jalapeno popper dogs on the grill again for supper, they're pretty good, especially with homemade wiener buns!!! Mrs. Ranch made macaroni salad to go with them. Next time, I want to wrap them in bacon.

Yum! I love butter beans in succotash. I never tried soybeans but so far I like every bean I ever met, lol.

Edamame is delicious!

I didn't preserve any of my crops beyond drying the seed but should have. Even with a fairly short row, I had more beans than I could eat soon enuf.

... then, I left that garden behind. Tried the soybeans, and only one variety out of 4 @Zeedman suggested as worth a try, could produce all that edamame. All but complete crop failures, 2 years running. I wonder if it may be true that soybeans do not like rocky soil. I'd grown them successfully for several years at the other location, which wasn't far away.
