Baymule's 500 Pound Boar!

I found a deal on a huge boar. His name is Wilbur and he is a Red Wattle. He got too big to breed their sows, so he went up for sale. The lady who owned him couldn’t put him in the freezer, he was her first pig and a pet. He is very calm and gentle. But she became afraid of Wilbur because he wanted to rub on her, affectionately, but because of his size, it was dangerous.

We picked him up today. I took boiled eggs and he walked up in the trailer to eat them. We unloaded him and he walked around his new pen.

He went in the Pig Palace and ate corn.

He is over 3 feet tall.

Wilbur is a BIG boy!

We’ll feed him soured corn, milk, alfalfa cubes and hay for 4-6 weeks, then take him to slaughter.

myghods that's a honker... watch your back around that guy, if he's hongry enough. eek... i have no experience with such animals. can't imagine wanting to even risk it after i heard about a friend of my nephew get bitten by a big one. he had bread in his hand and was feeding, took his eyes off and pig went for bread he was holding in other hand and almost got his nuts bitten off. no thank you. 1200lb pig. smashed him up against the fence for a few moments too until he could get away. i'd have been freaked out major...

He was in a tiny pen about the size of the Pig Palace. It was made of welded wire (weak crap), pallets and some tin scraps. Might as well wrapped him in toilet paper. He'd been in that pen since he was a weaner pig, he's 3 years old now. I hope he wants to stay in the pen, if not, we'll have to hot wire it.

It is important to me that our animals have a good life. We want them to act out their natural lives, doing what they do. They get plenty to eat, drink, treats and they live a good life. They just have one bad day.

Wilbur came up to the lady to get his ears rubbed, she reached over the 3' tall fence. I swear, Wilbur is taller than the fence they kept him in. It made me sad to see his living conditions. I know pigs don't need a lot, but they sure enjoy a little more than they need. Now he has the Pig Palace and a 50x50 foot pen with trees for shade. We may only keep him for a month or so, but it will be the best month of his life.

sweet and yes, i agree, treat them well and with respect for their nature and what they need. and then thank them and also their sacrifice. i wonder if lady cried. she knows you were planning on eating it right?

Yes, we made it no secret. They butchered his brother last year. She just couldn’t eat Wilbur. I sent pictures of him in his new pen.
