Just under 90 F. today & muggy. But in the shade with a nice breeze, it feels winderful. ;)

Since the rains ended, we've gone back into a dry spell. The soil is really drying fast in the heat, and there is quite a bit of afternoon wilting. We're going back out to the rural garden later (when it cools down a little) to lay a little more mulch & give everything a good, deep watering.

I had to laugh out loud yesterday. Here in Santa Clara CA it was humid. My sweat was running at 9:00 a.m. when I was outside dead heading society garlic. I ran in and checked the on line weather report.

No wonder I was sweating! It was 54 % humidity! Totally humid for these parts!!! It was remnants of a monsoon passing up in the higher atmosphere. WAAAY to humid for this old lady!!

I'm grinning too. We all have different climates we have to deal with and sort of get used to. Especially in winter I get a nose bleed if I spend any time in your climate. Way too dry.

I usually go by dew point more than humidity to determine how humid it really is, relative humidity is so temperature dependent. When I was in northwest Arkansas the weather forecasters would go bonkers about the humidity if the dew point hit the 60's. Totally miserable humid conditions. And it was. I was used to the weather there and I got soaked if I went out.

The lowest forecast dew point in my next ten-day forecast is 74 F. The highest is 80. Dew point is when humidity is 100%. The air temperature cannot fall below the dew point so our mornings can start off relatively warm. To me that's an advantage of a drier climate, you often get some really nice evenings and nights. Down here I know if I do much outside I'm going to be soaked with sweat so I immediately change into work clothes.

I can't recall humidity in this country like we are getting now.

The only time I experienced even worse humidity was when I was abroad and near a jungle i can honestly say we weren't far off competing with it recently.
