I'm sorry for your friend @Gardening with Rabbits . Stubborn old ladies (or gents for that matter) are not in their right mind when it comes to their health.

This is why I MAKE my hubs go to the Dr and I go into the room with him so that I can "hear" what is being said.
She will be made to go to the doctor now, but I am not sure if she will ever live at home alone again.

Drinking coffee and finished a half apron that DD wanted. I have always made full aprons that are reversible but she said they are too thick to wipe hands on. Trying to keep my with Mister my 16-year-old cat. He has been going to the vet off and on for a hole in his side that would not heal. He got bit in a cat fight last fall. The first round of antibiotics helped but he did not heal, so when he went back they did block work and said he has diabetes, which I was pretty sure he had. They have him a stronger dose of antibiotics and some of that honey that heals wounds. The wound finally healed and they also gave a prescription for a diabetic cat food that I had to order. Very expensive but I think he might have gained a little weight. He is not allowed to go outside without us being around. It snowed again, so he does not care, but as soon as it warms up he is going to want to be outside. He likes to help me in the garden. He is my last outdoor/indoor cat, garden helper. My other cat Blinky has a pen that opens from the office and he goes outside to watch me when I am working, so in a way I still have a helper, but he is 12 years old now. I do not have to worry about the leaves now because it snowed again. Maybe these leaves will be mostly decayed by the time spring comes. Friend is still in the hospital. I am hoping she starts gaining strength and able to sit up in a chair and walk a little soon.

Good Morning Everybody! Happy HUMP Day!!!! Almost through the week And yes I know the ones who are farmers/homesteaders with animals (cows, horses, pigs, chickens, and so on) you don't get a day off. I know how hard you work to keep store shelves filled plus food in your pantry, fridge/freezer and table. I admire all of you for your dedication to keeping ungrateful bellies full.

Just finished second cup of coffee. I’m preparing myself for an anti-hibernation diet to shed a few pounds. After therapy this morning, I’ve got a couple errands to run, get oil changed in my car, and shop for some groceries. Then it will be meat/vegetables diet. No sugar. :barnie No/low carbs.:barnie:barnie:barnie Worst of all-NO BROWNIES!:thNONE! I had my last fling last night, brownie in a cup.

Might I suggest black bean brownies? They are much better than they sound. I also cut the sugar back. Another sweet I modified is oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
They sound yummy, but beans are full of carbs and off the list. No Southern peas either. :tongue

It usually doesn’t take long to shed the pounds and I can go back to my slovenly ways. Since I’m so active, it takes all year to put the weight back on. :gig

Have you tried carob brownies? Not as good as the real, chewy, decadent stuff, but it takes the edge off.
