Thanks,Ron
That pic was from spring,we went for 2 months this summer without a drop of rain.It got pretty bad there for awhile,we've got cooler temps now & some rain pretty regular.
The sunchokes are blooming now & they did manage to get pretty dern big this year.Funny thing is we thinned...
The good news is we've got a water pump!!
I figured everyone here could appreciate that, lol. It's been several years since my MIL had one running. It's electric & we got it for free, just had to replace the seals.DH ran the electricity down to the pump & buried the pipe.
My Dh got 400 ft of...
LOL @ Greensage45 & beefy.. yall crack me up. :lau
I'm not going to cut the "monster" down.. it's just too cool looking.
The pink flowers are lantana, just put them there this spring. My MIL was trimming some & I just stuck them in the ground. That area is right by the coop & guess the ground...
Hey yall, got a mystery going on here.
I planted a few marigold seeds I saved from last year.
This plant has never bloomed, but it sure got big! It's over 6ft tall.
Here's a close up of the leaves, they don't smell like a marigold. :idunno
Thanks Pat & Hattie,
Last year, I had planted them in a bad spot & maybe got 2 pods. :(
They are doing much better this year, can't wait to try some.
We planted some green beans & purple hulls peas, should be having some of those real soon too.
Sure is nice to have homegrown veggies. :)...
Hi,
I've been researching online, one site says to leave them on the vine & others to pick when they are 8 tp 10 inches long. :idunno
Has anyone on here grown them ?
Thanks, Miriam :)
Hi yall,
We've have been blessed with another harvest with our blackberries this year. We don't drink but, we'd be willing to try some homemade wine. :P LOL !
If anyone has a good recipe to share & any tips, we'd love to hear them.
Thanks, Miriam :)
Thanks so much, Setter... believe me,I've squashed & squashed those boogers... the darn chickens won't touch them,go figure.
I'm going to try spraying the tar out of them & continue the squashing, if I have to I'll go to town & get some stuff.
Thanks again, Miriam
Oh wonderful, that's what they are.... is there any other type of household stuff I could use??? Like Joy dish soap & minerial oil or veg oil??? I live over an hour to the nearest town that might would carry that.
I don't want to hurt the Lady bugs...
I have no idea what they are, but I want them gone!!!!
The pests are tear drop shaped & they are sucking the life out of my clematis. :(
I've tired hosing them off & tired using soapy water. I'm at a loss on how to get rid of them without using chemicals. There are also some Lady bugs that...
Thanks,
I'll have to pick a spot & add some sand with our soil here.
I really hope I can grow some, I love the smell of lavender.
Where are you getting yours from?
I've tired planting the ones I buy for the birds.... like you said Pat they are tiny, pathetic looking flowers, lol.
I've grown the mammoth kind, the wild birdies love them... & the darn coons :rant
Hi yall, I've tired growing some (can't remember the kind) & ended up killing it.
Do any of yall know what would grow good here in north Louisiana?
Thanks, Miriam
Hope this is the right place :)
I'm searching for some to plant, need the name of them.
I'm wanting the type with the big sunflower heads. I've ordered the stripe seeds before, but I would rather have the kind that are good for the chickens.
Thank you,Miriam
nccountrygirl, so sorry. I can post them again. I usually don't leave my pics on Photobucket for very long these days, lol.
Give me a few(several) mintues... on dial up,lol.
Okay they are up top again.enjoy :)
It seems every year I put out plants earlier than before.Rule of thumb is put your plants out around Easter to avoid frost where I live. I really jumped the gun this year,I put all my plants out by the middle/ end of March.
That one squash plant is a monster, I'll have to post some pics of it...
