My husband was wondering if there is something we can put in this opening to keep water out and to make sure this part of the tree doesn't break off.

We noticed this a couple of weeks ago. We love this tree. My husband was wondering if he could bolt it to keep it from splitting more or breaking. Is there anything we can do or does it just have to come down?

The first one is about 6-12' but we have these all over all different sizes. These next 2 are both vines We have many different vines growing all over. I'm sure some is kudzu but we are relatively new to this part of the country and don't know what it looks like. Thanks Monica
