@Bluejay77 I am beginning to wonder if there is one oddball in the Ntingi section. I remarked one vined before the rest and it seems to be ahead of everyone in height and leaf size and also has some of the purple color to the stem that the rest do not have (like the Sweetwater outcrosses). It will be interesting to see whether or not it is a true Ntingi or if it is an outcross.

I suppose if any of the Ntingi beans have different colored stems, and lacks uniformity of the other plants in your grow out then it is probably a cross. I've never grown Ntingi here. I got it from Joesph Simcox in 2013. It has been grown in 2015, and 2018 by our network growers.

One of the three outcrosses in Sweetwater. The purple flower is so pretty, but they are so sensitive to heat, have not had one open yet as they all dropped when it was hot

Ugh, so all the seeds of Black Bear (my outcross) are growing as a delicate-stemmed prostrate bush. No runners. Last year the one mother plant was a ginormous branching pole type. Idk if it'll grow as the season progresses, but I am very suprised. Not even one of the few dozen are climbing
