Anyone starting seeds yet?

I had been holding out to get my "greenhouse" finished, but have decided that winter just isn't coming and I'm a month behind anyway and if things keep on as they've been I'll already be doubly late than I think I am....

So Saturday I planted

6 each of the following tomatoes:
Green Zebra
Brandywine
Red Pear
Tigrovy
Sungold

12 each of the following Peppers:
Big Red
Corno di Toro Rosso

and:
Borage
Nasturtiums
Marigolds
Dill
Basil

I'll be direct sowing some stuff (carrots, okra, cukes, melons, zucchs) in the next couple weeks.

Still too early for me, but I have my seeds ordered and picked up some peat pots this weekend!! I have to force myself to wait until at least the 2nd week in March or I end up starting things waaaaaay too early.

Spent the weekend tweaking my tunnel greenhouse. Had to take it down last summer for a hurricane. It has been back up all winter, but it needed a bit of work. Way too early to plant in Massachusetts, but it was so warm in the greenhouse I was tempted.

On Sunday I started:

Amish paste Tomatoes
Creole
Mortgage Lifter
Arkansas Traveler
Riesentraube
Big Beef

Peppers:
Orange Bell
jalapeno Craig's Grande
Mustard Habanero
Lipstick
Emerald Giant

They are all nice and warm sitting on my heat mat in the greenhouse.

it makes me mad when i go to lowes or home depot or even walmart in the first week of march and they have all of there tomato, peppers, and other stuff out and they are 10 times bigger than what i have started. can someone tell me when bonnie starts there seeds????? ok yes i have a grow light and lots of stuff growing and sprouting and i am using rainwater and fertilizer. I WILL NOT BE OUT DONE BY BONNIE THIS YEAR!!!!! :thumbsup
LOL! ;)
I feel the same way about Mother's day Baskets. What the heck! I guess all those chemicals really make a difference, but I believe I can get my baskets bigger and better this year organically!!!!!!!

Approx. 230 little sprouts at this house and 30 more just started yesterday. (herbs) The 230 include perennials, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, peppers, tomatoes, brussel sprouts. Broc., cauli., and cab. will go in the garden in about 5 more days. The brussels need need a little longer and of course it's not time for zone 7 tomatoes or peppers. I'm getting excited....I want to put something in the ground!

Started my first group of seedlings inside today. Here's what I started:

The following four heirloom tomatoes (I know there are non-heirloom varieties of these same ones, but these are heirlooms):
Roma tomatoes, Rutgers tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, and large red cherry tomatoes.

I also started the following seedlings: Broccoli, cauliflower, black beauty eggplant, pickling cucumber, Japanese eggplant, sugar baby watermelon, lemon cucumbers, okra, sweet cayenne, tigger melons, loofah plants, sweet bell pepper, and sugar pie pumpkins.

Seed tape for white Spanish onions, green onions, and golden acre cabbage goes into the ground tomorrow.

we planted in doors three weeks ago. Tomatoes, bell peppers, chilis takes a while to grow so we did them early. We cant wait for spring to get our garden going !! :tools

It's still too cold where I live (Indiana). So I will have to wait a few weeks until I start planting seeds in my garden.

I have lots of little seedling now. Herbs and onions, some flowers, lettuce and cabbage. I started my peppers about two weeks ago and about 1/2 are up. They take forever, I started some tomatoes last night, its a little early but I am optimistic that the weather will hold and I will get a jump on my garden. I am also planning on using some hoop houses over my beds to I can get them out at the earliest possible date. :fl
