Baymule’s Farm

There are some pretty Brahma heifers in the front pasture. This evening I was feeding the sheep…… “You have a bucket? For us?”

Talked to doctors nurse and patient advocate at the hospital. The short version is a social worker will come see me and may be able to arrange home health care for me, but I need someone to stay nights. Riiiiiiioggghhhtt.
Well dang it, if I lived close enough, I would plan to come stay with you to help out until you were ready to go it alone.

Years ago I made a quilt to commemorate Texas 150th birthday. 800 hand cut and stitched diamonds, all quilting was done by hand.

I drew symbols of Texas on butcher paper and transferred to white broadcloth. I embroidered in black outline stitch.

That is REALLY an old fashioned quilt. STUNNING doesn't describe it. How many YEARS did it take to complete?!?
I watch quilting programs bc quilters have strategies that help sewers, like pressing seams open to one side and connecting with a piece ironed to the other side to "lock" the stitches and ease bulk. I have Never seen instructions on Any sewing pattern that teaches this.
Thought you might enjoy this, @baymule
I will have my DD send me the video from this seamstress/historian who purchased one of these. It creates a perfect row that resembles hand stitches, and locks each stitch below. The work resembles perfect top stitching and we ALL admire that, even if it is a man buying an expensive suit.
She speaks of how relaxing it is to operate this practically silent machine with it's hand crank.
